General education

The general and technological education programme in Seconde (Year 11) is common to all pupils aiming to take general or technological baccalaureate examinations.

At the end of this year, pupils choose their paths for Première (Year 12) and Terminale (Year 13), which will lead to a specific baccalaureate. Lycée Albert I offers three general baccalaureate options.

ES Option: Economic and Social Sciences Baccalaureate
This option leads to a multidisciplinary baccalaureate focused on economics, mathematics, history and geography.

L Option: Literary Baccalaureate
This option concentrates on literary subjects: French literature, foreign literature, history, geography, philosophy, modern and classical languages.
Within this option, pupils choose an artistic, linguistic or mathematical focus.

S Option: Scientific Baccalaureate
The scientific option focuses on mathematics and experimental sciences (physics, chemistry, life sciences and earth sciences).
In this option, pupils choose to further develop their knowledge in a scientific or ICT subject.

From Seconde (Year 11) to Terminale (Year 13), pupils also have the opportunity to study in the international, European or traditional English sections.
